Limerence EP - 2021
“I wonder what sort of a tale we’ve fallen into?” Sam asks Frodo in Lord of the Rings.
What if the tale we’ve fallen into is, at its heart, a love story? That’s what my six-song EP Limerence supposes. Loosely based on the Song of Songs, Limerence follows a bride through her journey of self-discovery and eventual self-acceptance in the eyes of her Beloved.
I’ve always loved the old Jewish interpretation of Song of Songs as a metaphor for God’s love for us. The definition of the word “Limerence” is “The state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person.” What if God is obsessed with us, in the same way that we are when we first fall in love with someone? Studies show that physiologically, those feelings don’t last more than six months. But what if, for God, they’ve lasted thousands of years?
This EP is that love story, told through the eyes of the bride. It is also the journey out of legalism and into grace. It is my story, too. And as I walk you through the songs on this album, I hope you see yourself in them as well.

In Search of the Sea - 2017
Hetty's debut album is bursting at the seams with witty lyrics, thoughtful reflections, and catchy melodies. Storytelling is at the heart of this record, and you will feel as if you’ve been on a journey by the time it’s over. You will meet characters like Annaliese, a girl who is always on the run; Paddy Coyle, who left Ireland but tried to take it with her; a woman who falls in love with a monk. It's Josh Ritter meets Regina Spektor. It's funny and heartbreaking. It's something altogether new.
